Tanna Edler helped transform the bedroom from beige walls, tan bedding and brown carpeting into a room with charcoal gray walls, citrine yellow nightstands and turquoise accents. Edler worked side by side with her client designing the room. One of the features is faux silk drapes that cover French doors that lead to a hot tub outside. It can be romantic with dimmed lights yet in the day when she pulls back the drapery those colors become chameleon-like and they really brighten the room, Edler said. The finished product won Edler a first-place award in the 2014 Interior Design Society’s designer of the year category for bedrooms under $30,000.
