A judge at common law may be an ordinary man, Poe says, a good judge of a carpet must be a genius. Poe felt that, as a genius himself, he was up to the task. But here is where his tastes and that of the founder of the Bauhaus school begin to diverge. She moved into the apartment in October 2010. “It was a nightmare to try to fit all the furniture from our 200-square-meter previous Los Angeles flat into a 130-square-meter one. I had to give up some of the pieces.” An interior designer herself, Martine is gifted when it comes to styling the space.
