Plan & Design Your Living Room

Living room design: Decorating ideas, inspiration, strategies Dress Your Windows Bare windows aren’t a good look unless you live in one of those glass-walled designer homes, frequently featured in Grand Designs . Even if you have a fabulous view and aren’t overlooked, shutters , Roman blinds or sheer curtains will enhance rather than detract from the window. On larger windows, go for vertical blinds, curtains, or a run of Venetian or roller blinds . If your room is fairly plain, you can add colour and pattern with curtains and blinds. The more luxurious you want the effect, the more layering you should hang, too – so Roman blinds and curtains, rather than just one or the other. Jerry and Sandy Twetten have operated the business, which has locations in Sioux Falls and Spirit Lake, Iowa, for 59 years. The new owners are Teresa Truog and Sarah Larson. The business will continue to operate under the Twettens name. There will be no changes in management, the design team, locations, the logo or the name, Truog said. The Future Of Design: Blue Is The New Green

The Future Of Design: Blue Is The New Green

What does this systems approach mean for the design profession? Barnes: The future of the profession will include a wide range of professionals including economists, biologists, chemists, and a range of social-science experts such as demographers, anthropologists and geographers. In smaller practices we will see extensive cross-training in disciplines. Clients will hire design consultants with the ability to both envision a design solution and quantify some sort of value on a “green to blue” spectrum. We might see this in smaller scale projects such as single-family residential or local community planning projects. Larger, more complex projects will require specialized expertise of a larger team where designers, engineers, energy specialists, and community advocates will all need to speak the same language. A rather narrow, small, unconventional space with no squares or rounds. The idea I had was to fit an unfit-able volume into a corner. Connecting the inner space and the terrace, the kitchen becomes a hub. As a consequence of virtual force, the box fits into place and ends up with a rounded” shape. Inside, two major spaces: one where food is prepared = love, love, care, generosity and seduction represented by a giant Orchid. Opposite, is a wall of fire from floor to ceiling, representing the space where food is cooked. For the original version including any supplementary images...
